I keep getting mail to root on the nameserver from cron.
The first message looked like this:
Return-Path: root
Received: (from root at localhost) by europa.asetech.com (8.6.12/8.6.9) id HAA27144; Sat, 1 Mar 1997 07:41:07 GMT

From: root <root at asetech.com>
Message-Id: <199703010741.HAA27144 at europa.asetech.com>
To: root at asetech.com
Subject: cron: updatedb
Status: R
mv: /var/spool/locate/locatedb.n: No such file or directory
So I touched locatedb.n since there was no file there and
now I get:
Return-Path: root
Received: (from root at localhost) by europa.asetech.com (8.6.12/8.6.9) id HAA14861; Thu, 6 Mar 1997 07:41:17 GMT

From: root <root at asetech.com>
Message-Id: <199703060741.HAA14861 at europa.asetech.com>
To: root at asetech.com
Subject: cron: updatedb
Status: R
updatedb: new database would be empty
Can anyone give me a clue?
Also on this same machine, if I write a file to the disk and
do "df -k" I can see that some disk space was chewed up, but
if I delete the file and do "df -k" it doesn't show that any
disk space was deleted. I'm pretty worried that when "df -k"
finally shows 100% the machine will crash even though I keep
deleting stuff. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks,
-Matt-
