[ale] Does RH4.2 'install' recognize Sony CD33UA on a Cardinal DSP16 card?

Greetings to Both Your Houses--

I want to use the RH 4.2 'boot.img' to do a "from scratch" installation
using a Sony CD33UA with a Cardinal DSP16 card as the CDROM controller. 
Has anyone used this combination successfully? TIA -- john
