Could I have found my problem? I find that the filters in /usr/lib/apsfilter/filter are linked to ../bin/apsfilter. But there is no /usr/lib/apsfilter/bin/apsfilter There is a /usr/lib/apsfilter/bin/apsfilter-2.3 Thanks again for any help.
