I'm trying to compile a new xterm because i want to disspaear from utmp
when i close the window, and the newer kernels and older xterms dont do
that together.

but i cant get any of them to compile! they all crash in compiling ...
one givess me an error "size of 'lastlog' isn't known"
(thats the ansi-xterm)
color-xterm says:
"
Tekproc.c: In function `Tinput':
Tekproc.c:707: warning: passing arg 2 of `select' from incompatible
pointer type
Tekproc.c:707: warning: passing arg 3 of `select' from incompatible
pointer type
Tekproc.c:707: warning: passing arg 4 of `select' from incompatible
pointer type
Tekproc.c: In function `TekRealize':
Tekproc.c:1193: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
Tekproc.c:1346: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
Tekproc.c: In function `TekSetFontSize':
Tekproc.c:1429: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
"

does anyone have any suggestions what i might do?
or know where i can try to find another _precompiled_ version of xterm
without having to re-install X?

(after upgrading libc, libg++, kernel, binutils, sysVinit, and a couple
more things last week, im a little tired of d/l, compile, install, find
whats broken, and fail to fix it w/o repeating)

any suggestions?
[PLEASE!]
