Regarding modification of login.c, I said:

}> Can't this be done in gettydefs? What does the login prompt have to do with
}> what OS (sorry for the stretch, calling WIN95 an OS) can login in to it?
}>

David responded:

}When a dial up adaptor, in Win95, connects to a remote computer by default
}it waits for "username:" as presented by an NT computer. There are
}selections, when setting up a dialup adaptor, to connect to different types
}of networks but a selection for unix it not there. .......................

Why does this NOT suprise me....

}.................................................. There for if I make the
}login prompt say username insead of login I should be able to have the dial
}up adaptor connect to our Linux box without having the terminal window popup
}with the login prompt in it.

If this doesn't sound like typical 'lock everyone else out' Micro$oft
mentality.....

Thanks for the info though. Never now when I may need it (shudder)... :)
