Well, the failure rate for an AMD overclocked to 100 is 7 out of 19.  
So I would say that it would probably be faster overall due to some 
optimizations that Cyrix has done.  In addition, it's a lot more 
reliable in the long run.

Also, Norton SI gives a real AMD 100  a 198.2 and a 586 Cyrix a 264.

In other words, your fried CPU still won't stand up :)
