  Don't know about the man pages. sure you installed them? I use 
  that ver and they work for me.

  As per the X, look in your /etc/XF86Config for the word virtual.
  You have configured your screen for a virtual resolution bigger than
  you really have.  There may be 3 or so places it sets the setting.  Just
  make sure they are all the same size or smaller than your real size.
