*_JOB DESCRIPTION_*
The Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS) is part of the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). One of the CDC’s core
missions is the stockpiling of materials for expedient distribution in
response to a national or international health crisis, natural disaster,
or other public emergency; this stockpile is called the Strategic
National Stockpile (SNS). DSNS has primary responsibility for the supply
chain management for the acquisition, warehousing, and distribution
logistics of the SNS inventory. To support this mission and its
personnel, DSNS has many IT systems including the Stockpile Resource
Program (SRP), which is the primary supply chain and financial
management system for the SNS. Leidos ITSS Team is contracted to provide
technical support (operations, maintenance, and development services)
for all DSNS IT systems including SRP.
This statement of work will detail the services and scope of work to be
delivered by the Subcontractor to Leidos in support of CDC DSNS IT
systems and programs.
*_SCOPE_*
One (1) qualified Senior Systems Administrator for Sun Solaris, Red Hat
Linux, Windows and VMWare based systems. Candidates for the job are
expected to be mid - senior level personnel, and fully capable at time
of hire of providing the following scope of service:
* Day-to-day system administration responsibilities for Red Hat Linux,
Sun Solaris and Windows based production, test and development
servers at primary and secondary sites.
* Initialization of virtualized Red Hat servers in VM Ware environment.
* Configuration of new server instantiations, and reconfiguration of
existing server instantiations.
* Configuration and maintenance of storage devices such as network
storage arrays.
* Configuration and maintenance of system network devices, and
integration of system components with the customer enterprise network.
* Installation, configuration and upgrades of operating system
utilities and applications.
* Server, network, and disk array planning, preparation, and
configuration in support of application software installation by
other team personnel such as DBA’s.
* Management of system, server or network resources (disk space, RAM,
network bandwidth, etc.) to ensure adequate resource distribution
for all systems.
* As needed, ability to bed down or assume support of 3rd party
sourced, government off the shelf (GOTS), or proprietary hardware
and/or software systems as mandated by the CDC customer.
* Configuration, maintenance, and oversight of the security posture of
all system components managed ensuring they are compliant with
customer mandated standards.
* Analysis of OS security controls impact on system applications, and
implementation of security controls to government customer standards.
* Analysis of government generated application, system or OS security
scans to determine course of action for timely remediation of
discovered vulnerabilities.

* Timely and comprehensive application of system component patches and
upgrades to maintain security posture of system.
* Management of server and application certificates as needed,
including certificate request generation and certificate loading.
* Configuration and maintenance of local firewalls to customer standards.
* System and user account management and creation in accordance with
customer security directives.
* Management, configuration and maintenance of backup and recovery
strategies at the file level for all servers and storage devices.
* Development and maintenance of custom scripts and jobs to implement
system support requirements.
* Remote and physical response and resolution efforts for system down
notifications.
* Helpdesk operations support including analysis and troubleshooting
leading to the resolution of ticket issue.
* Performance tuning of all server, network, storage or system components.
* Installation and configuration of automated monitoring tools for
alert notification in advance of impact to system users.
* Teamwork with team project managers, system analysts, and database
administrators in the specification and elaboration of system
designs and architectures to enhance existing system requirements or
implement emerging customer requirements.
* Documentation including system architecture, component
configuration, and processes.
* Planning and scheduling inputs to project management for all tasks.
* Innovation recommendations leading to increased security,
reliability, availability or supportability for system or system
components.
*_Mandatory Personnel Qualifications_*
* Willingness to submit to and ability to pass background
investigation leading to obtaining and maintaining a US Government
Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
* At least ten (10) years of Sun Solaris System Administration.
* At least ten (10) years of Linux System Administration
* At least ten (10) years of Microsoft Windows System Administration
* At least five (5) years of experience in VMWare environments.
* Ability to pass an Advanced-High Proficiency levels (Speaking and
Writing) in English as measured by the American Council on the
Teaching of Foreign Languages.
* Ability to respond within 90 minutes in case of system down or other
emergencies to the work locations
*_Desirable Personnel Qualifications_*
* Relevant system administration certifications from Sun, Red Hat,
Microsoft or non-Red Hat Linux vendor.
* Experience with Red Hat Satellite and Kickstart
* Experience administering Puppet/SIMP
* Security certifications such as Network+, Security+, or CISP.
* Bachelor’s or Associates degree in a technical area of expertise.
* Previous experience administering government computer systems, and
in particular classified government computer systems.
* Previous or existing government security clearances.
