Brief Job Description
Must-haves
5+ years of Linux (RHEL 6, Ubuntu and Centos)
3-5 years of VMware experience
-Server hardware sizing, configuration and tuning (various vendors)
-Experience scripting in PowerShell, Python, Perl (or similar)
-Well-rounded knowledge of storage and backup solutions (NetApp, SAN, Veeam, TSM, etc)

Plusses
DevOps Engineering experience (SaaS work environment)
Experience in Merger/Acquisitions of Data Center Platforms
RHEL Certification
Azure Experience
VCP Certified
Well-rounded knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, VMPLS, VLAN, Routing, Firewalls, etc.)

Day-to-Day
The Linux Engineer is an Infrastructure role responsible for the support, design, documentation and optimization of enterprise server solutions including physical, virtual and cloud implementations. Manage production and non-production environments in cloud, DevOps, hybrid-cloud, data center and local site locations. Proactively monitor and optimize systems. Troubleshoot incidents and write and/or validate root cause analysis documents. Provide best practice configuration/automation/procedures/documentation. Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation.
