JOB SUMMARY:

globe. G&D has an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Engineer I. If

is looking for passionate, dynamic and motivated professionals to be part 
of a team who are in touch with cutting edge technology, often in advance 
of commercial availability.
In this position you will be responsible to install, configure, test and 
most importantly, integrate our platforms with major mobile operators and 
technology companies. You will be challenged to use your logical mindset, 
combined with your previous experience on programming/scripting, 
networking, Unix based systems and databases to make sure we fulfill our 
customers? expectations according to the commercial agreements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
? To install, configure, integrate and interface highly complex technical 
solutions within customer?s mobile telecom networks.
? To propose and architect solutions based on customer?s requirements.
? To be able to understand the market and internal specifications in order 
to implement the solutions with high quality levels.
? To work in close cooperation with G&D customers and project managers to 
plan, implement, integrate and accept products.
? To coordinate and debate with Software Development based in Europe to 
ensure delivery of solutions for customers in the Americas.
? To follow up with Software Development and manage any quality or defect 
issues with G&D products.
? To manage and implement all technical interfaces with G&D products. This 
includes mobile operator?s billing systems, network management systems, 
provisioning systems, database servers, storage arrays, SMS-Cs, STPs, 
Firewalls, PGWs, HLR, HSS, SIM cards and handsets.
? To transition all completed projects to Global Customer Services Support 
and Managed Service Operations with all supporting documentation.
? To create and execute complete test plans that will meet G&D?s and the 
customers? expectations.
? Acceptance testing with the customer.
? To be able to conduct technical meetings with our customers, providing 
accurate and prompt answers.
? Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in co-ordination with head 
office staff under time pressure from customer and project
? To write technical documents such as (but not limited to) architecture 
design documents, pre-requisite documents and Site Configuration 
documents.
? Moderate travelling involved in role (< 15% of time)
? The job may require work outside normal business hours
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required Skills: 
? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computing Engineering or similar 
technical area
? 2+ years technical experience
? English (fluent written and spoken)
? Unix/Solaris
? Linux (preferably RedHat)
? VMWare
? Sun Enterprise and Intel based Hardware knowledge
? Oracle DB-Admin skills
? No-SQL database skills (Cassandra, mongoDB)
? SOAP, REST and HTTP and HTTPS Protocols, including the ability to work 
with test clients and certificates.
? Apache, Tomcat, Java Applications 
? Networking (firewalls, VPNs, vLANs, Load balancers, multi-pathing, 
Wireshark capture and analysis)
? Able to write reports and be proficient in technical dealings with 
customers on the phone and in meetings
? Ability to work across cultures
? Able to work in a stressful environment on customer sites
? Analytical logical thinking
 Desirable:
? CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE Technologies
? GSM telecoms technology standard
? Dockers
? Nagios
? Knowledge of IT and/or telecom technologies and strategies
? Knowledge of OTA platforms
? Veritas Volume Manager and Cluster skills, Windows Server 2007, C7/SS7 
signaling, SIM cards and SMS-C protocols
? Backup solutions, Recovery Manager
