Entry Level Java Developer



Job description

We have a part-time intern to permanent Entry Level Java Developer position
open at Pace-O-Matic <http://www.paceomatic.com/>. The Java Developer will
assist in the development and coding of our Cutting EDGE® gaming software
and related applications.

This position will be heavily involved in new product development as well
as maintaining and enhancing our existing software products, using Object
Oriented Design methodology, Sun Java, OpenGL and Swing.



*Responsibilities: *

·         Development: Participate in the development and implementation of
Java code based on provided specifications. Write new programs or create
modifications to existing applications as necessary based on project
requirements. Follow established standards for the design, coding, and
testing of software. It is expected that the candidate will be tutored in
the specifics of the Cutting EDGE® software but that general Java coding
and Object Oriented Design principals are already understood.

·         Coordination/Interaction: Will work closely with the Product
Management and Quality Assurance teams associated with the software and
will assist in technical troubleshooting of software issues.

There is a vast array of advancement positions within Product Development
and beyond.

Desired Skills and Experience





*Qualifications: *

·         1 year of Java and exposure to Linux, OpenGL, Swing. School work
can be included.

·         Familiarity with SVN, Eclipse, Multi-Threading, Serial protocol
programming, Device Drivers, sockets, SQL, JDBC, low level hardware
interfacing, file I/O, XML, RMI, JNI and ANT. Are all plusses.

·         C, C++, C#, Linux kernel, driver development experience is an
added benefit.

·         Current graduate school enrollment is acceptable. We are flexible
in terms of scheduling.

·         Must have experience with Linux and Sun Java.

·         Object oriented analysis and design skills are core to the
position.

·         Must be a self-motivated professional with a passion for software
development. It is also important to be able to provide creative solutions,
and work constructively as a team member or independently.
