Cadillac Jack is seeking a Linux OS Engineer to support our Linux operating systems. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including installation of operating systems, builds, upgrades, drivers and patches. In addition, the candidate will also configure Cadillac Jack Linux operating system for multiple platforms. Candidate is expected to debug issues, perform platform testing and release new OS software packages to the software configuration management department.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
The duties of this role include but are not limited to the following:
. Linux OS packages configurations
. Maintain and update build systems
. Integrate drivers and patches
. Troubleshooting and debugging software defects
. Evaluate OS performance across platforms
. Implement jurisdictional requirements
. Integrate and test hardware drivers
. Recommend and implement solutions to improve OS performance and reliability
. Provide technical expertise to engineering teams, quality assurance and regulatory agencies

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
. Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
. Must work well in a team environment and on individual tasks with minimum supervision
. Linux systems administration experience
. Experience with RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu or Gentoo Linux systems
. Familiarity with Linux Kernel Source Code is a plus
. Knowledge of PHP, MySQL and Microsoft SQL languages
. Proficient in BASH scripting language
. Python knowledge a plus
. Experience with embedded software tools (squashFS, AUFS) is a plus
. Windows networking experience a plus
. C and C++ knowledge is a plus but not required
. Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, similar technical discipline or relevant experience
