SteelPivot is growing our Linux engineering team! This is a great opportunity with a fast growing company that is centered around Linux, open source and networking. 
We are searching for a strong, senior Linux Engineer with a passion for Linux and open source technologies as well as solid Linux configuration and troubleshooting skills. 
As an engineer with SteelPivot, you would be responsible for configuration, troubleshooting and subject matter expertise on Linux servers, open source applications including KVM Virtualization, Asterisk VoIP, clustering, storage management and Windows AD integration. 
Our engineers also support the delivery of training courses, the development and testing of technical labs as well as the supporting of our internal Linux-based cloud infrastructure.

Job Duties 
Design, implement and support complex Linux based infrastructures 
Design, implement, manage and troubleshoot complex Linux applications 
Support the development and delivery of highly technical Linux training and labs 
Configure, troubleshoot and support Linux and Open Source based applications 
Research and compile custom modules, libraries, kernels and applications 
Other Linux oriented duties and tasks as necessary 
Up to 25% travel may be required

Job Requirements 
6 years of progressive Linux OS configuration, troubleshooting and support in a corporate or data center environment 
4+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting at least two of the following technologies: KVM, RedHat/CENTOS Clustering, Asterisk, Linux storage management, OpenVPN or LAMP 
2+ years of TCP/IP networking experience (IP, subnetting, routing & switching concepts) 
4+ years of scripting/coding experience (SHELL, PHP, C, etc.) 
2+ years direct client relationship experience (consulting, sales engineering or similar experience) preferred 
Experienced, confident disposition with ability to work under pressure 
Professional disposition and appearance, articulate speaker, experience interacting with high-value clients (sales engineering experience is a plus) 
Highly motivated and willing to ask for help when needed (ability to work well in teams is a MUST) 
Ability to meet attendance standards and provide off-hours operational support 
Bachelors degree from an accredited college (or related work experience)
