POSITION
Looking for a Linux Admin/Engineer with a Cabling background.
Position is through September 2013 and should go longer but we cannot guarantee past September.
Position is in Atlanta Ga

Description:

*         Looking for System admin who has supported Cable Video network applications HeadEnd systems such as: DNCS, DOCSIS, and DSG.

*         Designed and supported IPv6 solutions

*         Administered and diagnosed network applications SA's DNCS and Motorola's DAC

*         Understands network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)

*         Diagnosed networking issues and data packets

*         Understands some IPTV (Video over IP) transport architecture, migration and installation

Required Skills:
Must have Linux (REDHAT) Experience from an Admin level
Must have one or more of the following: DSG, DAC/DNCS, OCAP, CMTS, or DOCSIS
Network Protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), TCP/IP Networking, DOCSIS, TFTP, Red Hat Linux 5/6, System Configuration, Java Administration

Nice to have Skills:
OCAP Infrastructure, XAIT, Object Carousel, SAN/NAS storage administration, MySQL/PostGress database administration, JVM Performance Tuning

Responsibilities
Candidate will be work on the TS Broadcaster platform for a video system, required to maintain, design, upgrade and support a Java application broadcasting network packets.  The platform is a delivery mechanism for applications and images from the client's middleware system to its customer's settop boxes.
Candidate will be working on upgrading and enhancing Video Platform Headend controllers supporting IPv6 solution, required to design, support and troubleshoot the environment during the client's IPv6 rollout and testing.
