Systems Administrator, Healthcare Client, Smyrna, Georgia (12 Months - Permanent Placement)
Little help with what I'm looking for:
Our environment contains many different flavors that falls on the Linux Admin's shoulders.
Suse
AIX
Redhat
Linux
Understanding and knowledge of HP hardware. Gen 8 servers are our current environment, but we have many many old models as well.
We are building out Axway as our means of FTP scripts. Experience with that will be helpful. Currently we do all old school scripts for our FTP

Perform operating system installation, configuration and administration
* Perform performance tuning and capacity planning
* Planning and installation of firmware and software patches
* Investigate, diagnose and effect repair for reported issues
* Assist in the support and integration of third party infrastructure software products (security, messaging, monitoring, etc.)
* Coordinates with systems managers and vendors to resolve complex malfunctions
* Research innovative SW and HW solutions to improve management and maintenance of the environment
* Monitor system alerts and/or problem reports to identify any systematic patterns which may require action
* Maintains hardware inventories and software licensing counts
* Adhere to all operational processes (Change, Incident, Problem, etc.)
* Participate in planned disaster recovery testing activities
* Provide technical support for clients requiring DR services on UNIX/Linux and Linux VMWARE servers.
* Create and implement disaster recovery procedures for HP-UX servers via HP Ignite/UX and HP Data Protector.
* 5 or more years' experience supporting Linux in mission critical systems environments
* 3 or more years directly working with IBM pSeries hardware and AIX operating systems
* Solid understanding of networking protocols and connectivity
* 3 or more years' experience with shell scripting and platform automation
* Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and implement quick turnaround tactical projects
