Premier client located in North Atlanta is seeking an AIX Senior Systems
Engineer.****

 Design, configure, deploy, support and optimize client and corporate AIX
infrastructures****

24X7 support of corporate and client AIX infrastructures****

Diagnose and troubleshoot AIX infrastructures support incidents****

Engage with technical and non-technical QTS LOBs, QTS partners, vendors and
clients ****

Incident support and participation in on-call rotation****

Create and maintain documentation: Logical/physical diagrams, run books,
discovery documents, QA documents, status reports, after action reports****

Demonstrate commitment to optimizing processes and procedures ****

Participate in the evaluation, testing, deployment and management of new
technologies****

Maintain and increase proficiency in area of expertise and general
UNIX/Linux technologies****

Consistently demonstrate initiative, and commitment to optimizing systems
and processes****

*QUALIFICATIONS***

Extensive experience installing, deploying, and supporting complex, highly
available AIX on 5.* + infrastructures: HMC, HACMP, LPAR, WPAR, VIO****

Extensive experience configuring, deploying, maintaining, native AIX
performance and security tool and applications: auditing, system trace,
tprof, aix security expert, RBACA, trusted AIX, etc****

Extensive experience testing HA configurations in complex, multiframe, AIX
architectures****

Ability to write advanced scripts****

Ability to automate repetitive tasks through scripting and
deployment/implementation of management tools.****

Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP,
SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP and others****

Extensive experience utilizing configuration management tools ****

Solid understanding of fundamental concepts of operating systems, system
components: memory, CPU, kernel, daemons, file system types, LVM, boot
loader, drivers, libraries, etc.****

Comprehensive understanding of fundamental system performance concepts:
I/O, memory, cpu, scheduling, etc.****

Extensive experience using OS systems tools, commands, utilities,
monitoring applications, performance analysis tools****

Comprehensive understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory,
CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, firmware, SAN

Extensive experience working in and knowledge of distributed, complex
enterprise deployments: networking, communication protocols, VLANs,
multi-tiered environments, virtualization technologies, storage,
hypervisors, routing, monitoring, storage connectivity, capacity planning,
file systems, backups, load balancing, firewalls****

Extensive experience in configuration best practices: security,
partitioning, package installation, patch managements, user management,
compliance configurations ****

Extensive experience configuring, deploying, and supporting highly
available and redundant infrastructures: clustering, HA, load balancing,
disaster recovery****

Extensive experience with VMware and virtualization technologies and
concepts****

Extensive experience configuring virtual interfaces, mult-ipathing, NIC
teaming, dual homing ****

Extensive experience configuring/deploying/supporting transparent,
standardized systems: creation of support documentation, logical/physical
diagrams, SOPs, Run Books, MOPs****

Solid experience deploying, managing Linux security related applications,
configurations, architectures, preferably in a regulated compliance
framework****

Outstanding troubleshooting and analysis of individual systems and systems
in distributed, enterprise environments. Ability to solve multi-faceted
complex problems ****

Outstanding communication skills. Ability to convey technical requirements
and concepts, commensurate to one’s level, to technical and non-technical
client, vendors, and corporate audience: supporting documentation, logical
diagrams, proposals, after action reports, MOPs****

Previous experience as project lead on multiple, complex client and
internal deployments****

Previous experience as lead on full cycle of product evaluation,
deployment, support****

Able to perform full problem resolution life cycle: take ownership,
identification, coordination with other LOB’s, testing, recreation, after
action report, implementation of solutions.****
