Thompson Technologies has an immediate and exciting 6 month engagement in Atlanta, GA for a Linux Engineer for deployment, automation, tools and applications for Operations to manage applications across physical, virtual, and cloud instances, and tailoring application deployment systems to meet operational needs.
You will use your skills and experience in the following:

 *   5 years experience with infrastructure management, Linux administration (RedHat 6.x/CentOS 5.x & 6.x), and networking services
 *   2+ years experience in high volume, public facing web site environments
 *   Virtualization administration experience
 *   Apache and Tomcat experience
 *   Scripting languages (e.g.: Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)
 *   Experience with Puppet, MCollective, Factor or similar tools
 *   Experience with configuration and management of CDN's (Akamai or Level 3)
 *   Knowledge of NFS protocol and tuning
 *   Intermediate level knowledge in MySQL or Oracle
 *   Understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Riak or CouchDB
 *   Experience with cloud computing (Google, AWS, Rackspace, etc.)
 *   BS in Computer Science or equivalent
The following skills would be a value add:

 *   Varnish or Squid a plus
 *   Knowledge of creating RPMs for open source and CPAN modules a plus
 *   Experience administering SAN, NAS storage and Netbackup a plus
