Sr. Systems Engineer will have hands on script automation experience, driving continuous improvement and stability within environments they've managed.   Solid Linux systems administration and SAN /NAS administration experience is a must. Engineers additionally will work with architecture, development, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions to attain high availability scalability and reliability.

Systems Engineer Principal Responsibilities:
*         Responsible for all Linux Systems /SAN/NAS/Fabric/Tape Backup & change control in Production and pre-production environments
*         Provides 24x7 support for all production and non production environments and ensure 99.999% SLA for system uptime
*         Performs routine system maintenance, performance tuning, analysis, and system patching.
*         Identifies, troubleshoots complex technical issues, and provides and implements technology solutions for both hardware and software levels for x86 - 64x architecture.
*         Able to optimize and tune systems for specific processes.
*         Performs routine administration duties Implement and monitor operational metrics to provide continuous process improvement
*         Delivers availability and response/resolution metrics that meet and/or exceeds defined service level objectives
*         Understands systems development lifecycle
*         Performs system capacity planning

*Responsible for insuring that systems security guidelines adhere to PCI compliance standards
*         Participates in annual system audit

Systems Engineer Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
Minimum of 7 years of experience with:

  *   RHEL 5.x system implementation support in 24/7/365 environments running multi-tiered applications
  *   Virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Citrix Xen and KVM.
  *   IBM Hardware : Blade Center HS21/HS22, x3850 (M3/X5 series) x3650 (M3)
  *   Fiber Switches / HBA : Cisco MDS, Brocade/Qlogic Fiber Switches , HBA cards. (4Gb - 8Gbs)
  *   Tape Backups  - (Symantec Netbackup Data Center, Quantum / Storagetek tape Libraries)
  *   Satellite / Spacewalk system Management
  *   Benchmarking tools for iops, network, and system stress testing

Minimum of 5 years of experience with:

  *   Storage : IBM XIV Storage System , 3Par T series, IBM DS3000
  *   NAS : Netapp , LSI Onstor, SNAP, HP
  *   Backup NAS Management - (HP, SNAP, Dell-eol)
  *   Strong knowledge of Shell /Perl Scripting
  *   SMTP - Sendmail , Postfix
  *   Experience working in high availability, high transactional, E-commerce or similar environments.
  *   In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals
  *   Strong troubleshooting skills
  *   Works rotational shifts and occasional change windows during evenings and weekends
  *   Provides emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  *   Apache / IIS Web Server
  *   DNS - Bind
  *   Syslog application
  *   Tripwire File Integrity application
  *   Windows 2008 / 2003 Server System
  *   Active Directory
  *   WSUS Server - Windows Patch Management

Education:

  *   Minimum Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
