Linux Engineer - Position Description:

In this role you will be working with a well established and leading organization to help optimize their IT Services Infrastructure. The environment is very high availability and requires a candidate who thrives in a fast paced team to offer 3rd tier support/trouble shooting and engineering solutions. Processes are mature and well defined and the opportunity offers a stable environment to continue to grow your Infrastructure career.  
You will build, configure and support systems in a large UNIX/LINUX environment. 

Required Skills:


5 or more years’ experience in systems administration and engineering that include the building, configuring and support of mission critical production systems in a large, enterprise environment. 


3 or more years’ experience supporting Red Hat Linux operating system platform (or equivalent, such as CentOS, Fedora etc.) in business-critical environment. Red Hat Certified Engineer certification highly desired (not required). 


Advanced skills in scripting in Perl and Shell


Experience supporting DNS, DHCP, SMTP installations with large user base. 


Experience with SAN technologies. 


Knowledge and understanding of relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle. 


Ability to write shell scripts or applications to create custom solutions that streamline and automate business processes. 


Possess critical thinking and effective troubleshooting skills 


Ability to mentor junior engineers in best practices of operations. 


Solid knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SMB, FTP protocols. 


BIND, Sendmail, PHP, MySQL, VSFTP, Samba
