JOB DESCRIPTION:

My client's Level II Data Center Ops group is in need of 4 engineers to help support their legacy and new open source systems. This will be an overnight & weekend shift as this is a global company and requires 24/7 support. The shifts will be either from Tuesday - Fri or Wed - Sat 4day/10 hr shifts, overnight (YOU GET 3 DAYS OFF!!!). Candidates must be open to overnight and weekend work.

Day to Day Duties:
Working with CA Service Desk to pull trouble tickets from Level I. Resolve tickets and close or escalate to Level III. The majority of their time will be spent supporting the existing production applications, they will occasionally assist with new server builds. They will be responsible for patching, performance management, tuning, modification of standards, and utilizing up and down times.

MUST HAVES:
- 6-8 years exp as a Red Hat Linux Engineer ( will look at less)
- VMWare experience (RH sitting on VMware on Blade servers)
- Experience with boot from SAN and multipathing
- 3-4 yrs scripting experience: Perl or Bash or Python (must create from scratch)
- 6 - 8 years Experience building, configuring, installing OS, installing software on RHL
- Knowledge of Oracle product lines such as Oracle Fusion Suite
- Ability to integrate and work well with members of different teams
- Ability to communicate technically and understand technical requirements
- Ability to learn new technologies on own

Pluses:
Knowledge of network integration
Knowledge of Storage - NetApp & SAN
Symantec
Solaris 10 experience
