Thompson Technologies has an immediate and exciting permanent employment opportunity located in Atlanta, GA for a Network Operations Center Engineer with Linux experience.  Our client has a growing and innovative environment, and they are looking for a bright mind with a creative edge.

Summary
The Network Operations Centre (NOC) is a 24/7 support centre.  A NOC Support Engineer's role is to support the  infrastructure.   This work is shift based and will require that you monitor both our ticketing and System / Event monitoring application. Our service lines have varying Service Level Agreement (SLAs) response times so the ability to prioritize events and hand off as required is a must.

Technical Skills

 *   Linux with preferably 3 to 4 years of experience. (RHEL, CentOS in particular)
 *   TCP / IP protocol Stack
 *   Foundation Cisco Skill Set: IP networking, basic routing, and firewalls
 *   Network / Host Monitoring Skillset: Nagios, Samhain, Solar Winds.
 *   Server hardware: x64 servers
 *   Databases: Experience with MySQL, Oracle or DB2.
 *   Windows server administration knowledge and experience
