Embedded Linux Developer- Metro Atlanta
Direct Hire

Job Function:
This position will develop software using appropriate programs and language to develop and upgrade products.  The Embedded Developer is also responsible for producing good design documentation, developing well-structured and fault free code, and diagnosing and correcting defects all in effort to implement features for applicable software.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering and minimum five years’ experience software application development or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and congenially in a team environment
• Capable of working under and meeting tight deadlines
• Must be able to follow protocols, processes, and procedures
• Commercial experience architecting and producing Linus/UNIX system internals (OS/Driver Code) and Linux embedded design and debugging Linux embedded devices
• Strong background in IP networking protocols and C skills
• Must possess experience in device driver development and support in Linux environment, building Linux modules, developing and supporting NFS on a Linux based system.
• Experience developing/debugging Linux based file systems and developing/debugging SAN based technologies and protocols in a Linux based system
• Knowledge and understanding of XML and application layer protocols such as HTTP, RTSP, SNMP, RTP, and RTCP
• Knowledge and understanding of CSS, XML and transportation of audio, video, and data
• Good understanding of video technology, compression (JPEG, MPEG), hardware components and video standards
• Excellent organization, time management, prioritizing, and analytical and problem solving skills
• Very good verbal and written communication skills and desire to continue learning new skills

Essential Functions:
• Produce design documentation, test plans and tools for software QA process and others as needed
• Implement new features for software
• Produce next generation products
• Migrate product software base to new hardware platforms
• Develop well-structured and fault free code
• Review and analyze software architecture and implementation
• Refactor code in an ongoing quality focused development effort
• Diagnose defects
• Provide 3rd tier support
• Repair defects and maintain previous released versions of software
• Other duties as assigned
