This is primarily a customer technical support position that will involve regular use of spreadsheets, ssh, Bash scripts, as well as network connectivity troubleshooting.  We will be conducting interviews immediately.  Bearing the above in mind, if you are proficient with CentOS or RHEL, you will be given Sys Admin responsibilities, as well.

Application Support Specialist

Growing small company in Suwanee/Johns Creek area is looking for an Application Support Specialist who will be supporting C and Java-based Windows and IOS/Android applications using PostgreSQL databases running on Linux servers.

Responsibilities

•Provides technical support to internal and external customers
•Analyze code, maintain, and debug software, Linux BASH, PHP and other scripting languages as needed
•Setup and maintenance of web pages
•Cross-train with IT personnel on other operations, providing support as needed to internal and external customers
•Perform other duties under general direction from the IT Director

Required Skills, 1+ Years Experience

•First line customer support
•Experience using Linux/Unix CLI
•Strong BASH scripting and usage of vi.
•Firm grasp of tcp/ip networking concepts
•Windows Firewall configuration
•Remote troubleshooting using ssh
•Troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, enthusiastic attitude, and strong work ethic
•Coding/scripting experience with PHP and/or HTML
•Strong MS Word and Excel experience
•SQL Database or pgAdmin experience using open source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
•Ability to work well and communicate with other team members
•Demonstrated history of completing projects on time
•Troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, enthusiastic attitude, and strong work ethic

Extra Credit Skills

•Production experience with databases
•Demonstrated competence in coding concepts and best practices
•Demonstrated competence in Linux and Windows security concepts and best practices
•Experience with Java, Eclipse, and/or javascript
•Good sense of humor and/or high pain tolerance

Note: Those without Bash or Linux CLI experience will not be considered.
