Hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend. With the market picking up,
I know a lot of people are removing themselves from job boards and
avoiding posting all together to avoid the onslaught of phone calls and
emails so hope this email isn't too much of an intrusion. I work for a
company in Midtown Atlanta (some of you may be familiar or know of us
through AJUG or DevNexus) and we are struggling to find an experienced
Systems Administrator with extensive RHEL experience. Our client is in
South Atlanta - my apologies to everyone in the Alpharetta/Cumming area
- but fear not as working from home is very much an option J

Description:

Our Atlanta-based client is currently looking for a Systems
Administrator. This person will join an existing team and will be
responsible for assisting with building and deploying servers,
performing operating system upgrades and patching, monitoring and
reporting on server capacity and performance, providing triage for
break-fix activities, and participating in system maintenance meetings
relating to hardware and software updates.

 

While the following technical skills are a must, equally as important is
finding someone who is a team player, goes about and beyond their
responsibilities and is eager to learn new skills. 

*         HP-UX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration to
include:

o   User and group administration=

o   Printer configurations

o   Storage administration using Logical Volume Manager (LVM)

o   Creating and maintaining filesystems

o   NFS administration

o   Operating system installations

o   Operating system patching

o   Kernel configurations

o   Network interface configurations

o   Performance troubleshooting

o   Software management using native package tools (HP Software
Distributor, Linux rpm)

o   Server installations

o   Scripting experience (Shell / Perl / WinBatch)

o   Knowledge of VMWare and virtual machines a plus

o   5+ years UNIX systems administration experience preferred

o   Degree preferred
