This is actually four job postings.

The first posting covers two positions, tier-3 linux or windows
sysadmins. The internal posting was conspicuously missing linux
details, but just s/Microsoft/Linux/ and s/IIS/Apache/ and so forth to
get the idea of the corresponding position.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Systems Administrator III interacts with PEER 1 customers to
re-boot/shutdown machines, add and remove user accounts, use backup
programs and verify disk integrity and maintain system database files
(groups, hosts, aliases). Escalations of customer issues are
ultimately brought to the System Administrator for resolution,
utilizing a variety of resources to obtain the necessary knowledge,
skills, techniques and tools that are needed to assist in this. This
includes research from online resources, books and product
documentation, other employees within the support organization, and
the product engineer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Systems Administrator III:
• Serves as resident expert on the products supported.
• Performs administration of Microsoft/IIS based machines in a large
multi-domain environment.
• Serves as liaison and main point of contact for the Product
Engineering and Development group(s), providing information regarding
server health, product issues and fixes, recommendations and system
performance.
• Has administrative access to a production server that is required
for resolving all issues.
• Reviews error and audit logs.
• Performs system restores and form backups as necessary.
• Works with vendors, I.T. staff, NSA Engineers, and end users to
troubleshoot problems with server applications.
• Assists in policing our usage policies (spam, porn, warez, eggdrop
bots) and works with customers and internal organizations to find a
resolution to the issues.
• Monitors system performance.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes cause of performance problems.
• Works on problems of moderate scope.
• Exercises judgment using procedures and practices to determine
appropriate course of action.
• Assists in the distribution of newly developed software, features,
changes, etc to production machines.
• Performs preventive maintenance on servers.
• Performs migrations of customer data as needed to maintain balanced
loads on systems.
• Performs on-call duties as required.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Systems Administrator III must demonstrate the following:
• Experience ( S.A. ) -- 4 + years
Operating System -- Expert knowledge and use of OS
Product Knowledge -- Expert in 3 + product sets
Skill Set -- Expert - as defined in skill set
• Knowledge of Microsoft commands/utilities including but not limited
to Apache or IIS, FTP, telnet, ssh, SMTP, POP, IMAP.
• Familiarity with most basic system administration tools and processes.
• Able to work with networked/distributed computing environment concepts.
• Ability to work independently on projects.
• Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Tk, Perl,
a shell, vbscript, etc.).
• Has a solid understanding of Intel-based server hardware, including
RAID configuration.
• Significant work experience with the following:
-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions.
-Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and
concrete variables.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or
one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.

There is also an opening for a tier 2 windows sysadmin, which is
basically the position directly beneath that one, which I won't bother
pasting the full description of. And finally there's an opening for a
DBA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Database Administrator:
• Ensures the database environment is designed and managed to meet
business and IT demands for availability, performance and
manageability
• Ensures implementation of industry best practices in systems administration
• Serves as the point of contact for advanced level troubleshooting
issues, and performs hands-on systems administration as required
• Collaborates with other team members to divide work load
• Participates in on-call rotation for database issues
• Monitors database operations and replication
• Analyzes and responds to performance and other maintenance issues
• Participates in application development projects to evolve the
database architecture and design
• Participates in the creation of development, staging & production
database instances, and the migration of those instances from one
environment to another
• Tests and corrects errors and refines changes, using change
management process where necessary to move changes from development to
staging to production
• Performs data migration, conversion and transformation from legacy
systems to production systems and from production systems to reporting
systems
• Tunes the performance of all the staging and production database instances
• Performs back-up and recovery
• Plans and executes disaster recovery
• Performs complex query development
• Performs complex replication troubleshooting
• Other duties that are within education and experience of the
incumbent may be assigned for the betterment of the company

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
• Willing to work in a cross-platform environment
• Demonstrates exceptional database design and SQL programming skills
• Troubleshooting and data manipulation tasks
• Experience with data profiling, meta data analysis, data modeling
and relational schema design
• Experience with data migration between different systems
• Ability to troubleshoot problems in person, over the phone, or via email
• Solid understanding and experience in disaster recovery, planning
and implementation
• Experience with backup and recovery process
• Database administration experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL or
MySQL, and development experience with the others
• Must have hands on experience in Linux and Windows
• Attention to detail
• Ability to diagnose and resolve a broad range of technical problems
• Strong teamwork, leadership and collaboration skills
• Strong communication skills are necessary for interaction with other
teams and departments
3-5 years of experience doing DBA work. Certifications are not
necessary, just good job experience
