Vocado is looking for a senior systems administrator who has strong computer science fundamentals and solid experience with industry-standard technologies to join our small and elite team. Be an integral member of the team that builds and operates Vocado’s Student Life Cycle Management and School Back Office service.

Provide system administration functions for a JBoss/CentOS/mySQL based SaaS solution.
* Manage and support the development, test, UAT and production environments.
* Manage release process for new system upgrades.
* Support and design solutions to improve the development to production engineering process.
* Drive the ongoing design and implementation of the various environments, ensuring cost effective scalability and availability of services.
* Troubleshoot production issues as they occur.
* Tier 2 on-call responsibility.

Successful candidate would have extensive experience with JBoss, CentOS, MySQL and Amazon AWS (EC2) and ideally have experience with TeamCity continuous build, svn and automated test tools such as Selenium.

Vocado is a highly distributed company - we have team members in California, the Caribbean, Spain, UK, Poland and France. Location does not matter though our preference is to hire for this position in EST or AST time zones. We need coverage with our engineering team in Europe and our team and customers on the US West coast.
