Senior UNIX Engineer

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, day-to-day management and
maintenance of the production Linux/Unix Servers.

 

The Systems Engineer will provide technical assistance to the System Team.
The Engineer will be responsible for system design, stability, engineering,
and troubleshooting. This responsibility encompasses the full range of
Information Technology (IT) activities. Location is perimeter area. Industry
is telecommunications.

 

Responsibilities include:



.         Capacity planning, troubleshooting, and monitoring of our
VMware-virtualized Linux systems and Java-based applications.

.         Redhat Linux, Oracle Linux, and Solaris 10 administration,
including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation

.         Develop and maintain system documentation

.         Troubleshooting and maintenance of system automation scripts
(linux shell scripting & windows batch files)

 

Requirements:



.         At least 5 years of experience with Linux/UNIX system
administration.

.         Proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning
experience.

.         Experience in a high-volume or critical production environment

.         Ability to handle periodic on-call duty.
