Here is the job description:

 

Duties and Qualifications 

 

This position functions as the primary engineering expert for
infrastructure software above the base operating system image.The
incumbent will provide technical expertise in the integration and
certification of infrastructure software onto a base hardware /
operating system image. 
The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing new infrastructure
software technology, working with ETI and EIS teams to understand the
requirements for current infrastructure change, validate the affects of
integrating and certifying new infrastructure software into the
environment and work with the Domain owners to establish the schedule
for sun setting technology. 
- Maintains in-depth expertise knowledge of assigned infrastructure
software products and technologies. 
- Maintains effective working relationship with all teams; 
- Works with base engineering, Lead engineers, Domain Owners, and
provisioning teams to define, establish, integrate and certify standard
infrastructure software solution offerings. 
- Validate the operational and functional impact of maintaining the
infrastructure in the environment and assess risk due to new software
technology adoption. 
- Collaborate with lead engineers on strategic direction as well as with
key participants in organization. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - 
Requires strong verbal & written communication, analytical, integration,
relationship, problem solving and planning skills; in depth
architectural knowledge of the technology components utilized within
large complex IT environments; ability to read and analyze
infrastructure solutions and service offerings to include optimizing
engineering design aspects; adept at conducting research into emerging
technologies and trends, standards, and products as required; must be
able to learn, acquire technical expert level of understanding, and
integrate new infrastructure software into existing baselined
engineering standards; strong understanding of IT operational processes
and familiarity with standards and trends relative to IT processes;
working technical knowledge of current systems infrastructure, software,
protocols, and standards, including SOA and utility computing models;
ability to plan and estimate technology costs at a high level;
experienced in building/maintaining working relationships; adept at
working within an engineering team environment; specialized area of
knowledge - Linux; minimum 7 years designing and/or supporting major IT
application infrastructure; experience at working both independently and
in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential; demonstrated
ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure
environment; strong leadership skills, plus excellent interpersonal
skills are a must; minimum of 7 years of experience working in a large
IT environment, supporting multiple computing environments, operating
systems and hardware platforms; focus typically in areas of
infrastructure & operational support, and solution design work; college
diploma or university degree in the field of computer science,
information systems, computer engineering or commensurate experience.
