Nokia consumer messaging solutions is currently hiring an Linux Administration Specialist . We are seeking a highly engaged individual with an extensive operational knowledge and background for IT infrastructure. Elements in this area of specialty include servers running on Linux OS and a strong understanding of network infrastructure.. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills and energetic follow-up and closure of operational issues. He/she will also be able to train more junior members of the team to improve their skills.  The individual may be required to be available for on-call support.

Responsibilities:
*       Configuration of Linux servers to meet specifications required by Nokia's proprietary environment
*       Perform daily tasks as assigned by the team of project coordinators.
*       Perform tasks related to escalation of problems from first and second tier support.
*       Schedule, Perform and analyze preventive maintenance routines.
*       Assist the development team in testing and troubleshooting issues in production and test environments
*       Perform system audit checks to ensure reliability and security.
*       Review and update configurations for kickstart and other auto installation methodologies
*       Maintain software patch levels and associated corrective maintenances.
*       Participate in security checks, escalate issues.
*       Provide operational training to Product Support and 24/7 operations team (NOC)
*       Ensure accuracy of all documentation and diagrams
*       Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.
*       Write and maintain system documentation.

Requirements:
*       5 years Linux experience, especially Red Hat and CentOS distributions
*       Ability to work extremely well with people, under minimal supervision, with a very positive attitude, while multi-tasking & under pressure.
*       Experience in an enterprise environment.
*       Experience in a web environment
*       Experience networking protocols
*       Experience with Linux in LAMP or Java environments
*       Working level knowledge of Nagios and other monitoring tools
*       Good written & oral skill-sets; good problem solving skills; customer service oriented, multi-tasking capabilities.
