people from such businesses to do front line support. From there you might be able to move up into other roles.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">In a previous life I worked in Hospitality/Accounting. While in those roles I spent a lot of time working with the systems (i.e. high level end user for our
main UNIX system) and got to the point where I was pretty much internal support for the workstations and systems and became the admin for our Novell network. When I got burned out in Hotels I looked around and found a company that made hotel software that
was hiring for their help desk. It was a fair pay cut to go there but I was promoted within a year to the point I was making what I’d made before and on my next promotion was making more. The roles there essentially made me SysAdmin of their main support
and development servers. My next job on leaving there was a pure SysAdmin role as have been

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Some of you may know me from the Sunday meet-ups at Harry's Pizza. I am looking for input on how I might land my first Linux related job. My end goal is to find myself in the
role of a Junior Systems Administrator somewhere within a few years.<br>
With no technical background, my research has indicated that I must start at the bottom, ie. Help Desk. It was also recommended that I look for any position within a web hosting company, since nowadays these companies tend to run Linux under the hood. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
