<div dir="ltr">Two points --<div>1) If the Mac is updated to the latest OS and Drivers, unless the printer is an oddball (EG: Not HP, Brother, Canon, lexmark, Epson) -- or older than 4-5 years old, almost 98% of the time, they "just work".. Apple does include the latest drivers from the manufacturers (whom they work closely with) to make sure this is the case. Not sure how the connection is (USB, Wifi?) but proper configuration on both ends usually does the trick. The fact that it "worked" with an older mac, and not with the newer MacBook Air sounds more like a config issue to me than anything else. </div><div><br></div><div>2) It may be cheaper to buy a new printer than a new Mac. </div><div><br></div><div>"refurbished" macs from the On-Line Apple.com store run at about 15-30% off of LIST PRICE. I've dealt with the guy in Sandy Springs. Bought a used, older model macbook pro.<br>
A good experience, and I just yesterday had a person at SimplyMac, and an Apple authorized store, tell me they have heard good things, also.<br>

I only work on Mac when she asks me about hers so was hoping someone else would know. She isn't interested in doing Linux. Her main concern is to be able to print via her wireless printer. She could do that on an older Mac she had but she got one of the MacBook air devices about a year ago and for some reason printing from that isn't working properly. I worked with her on it for a while right after she got the MacBook Air but never could get it to print properly.<br>
