Updates appear about a day after Debian has them unless it's network issues. <div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Yeah. A real Linux box is ideal. Just need cards with 8-12 nics each and fully off-loaded network stack. Which is why the only viable option is running a well-patched,<br>
constantly maintained, BSD or Linux distro as your edge router is<br>
necessary.<br>

None of these companies does enough. It is too hard for them.<br>
Even expensive "enterprise" routers fail with this sort of stuff.<br>

Even with all the problems, old bugs going unpatched, that BSD/Linux<br>
has, they are still the best options available to most people. When a<br>
network-based attack is known, it gets patched very quickly. At least<br>
that is my impression.<br>
