<p dir="ltr">Getting a patent on research funded with public money always smelled bad to me.</p>
<p dir="ltr">That's not worded quite right. Creating a proprietary thing with public funding is wrong. That sounds better.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Sticking science behind a wall of lawyers is bad for everything but the lawyers.</p>
