<p dir="ltr">That really smells of a corrupted sector. As long as the system had been booted at least once since install finished, it was setup ok. Update could break things if new lvm requires new config but lvm2 hasn't changed config and has been standard for many years.</p>

If that happened to you I suspect you didn't set them up right. I've been using LVM for years with very few issues and none that caused data loss.<br>
