That water heater flush is a job for an arduino! Just keep a stout hose section connected to drain and put the end outside the house through the wall. Add a servo powered 1/4 turn ball valve with positive open/closed switches. Or a stepper motor with a large gear wheel and connecting arm and count the ticks using an old mouse optical pickup.

On October 19, 2015 8:07:45 AM EDT, DJ-Pfulio <djpfulio@jdpfu.com> wrote:

parts do have a limited lifespan.

BTW - an easy way to remember stuff like this is with your home calendar. Just
put entries in for future events the same way you enter b-days. When you move
calendar systems, don't forget to export all the entries for the next calendar
system to import. Been doing this since I got a PalmPilot in the mid-90s.

For example, yesterday had "trim trees and shrubs" on my calendar and Saturday
was "Weather Stripping day" here. Having these reminders means no normal house
maintenance items are forgotten - I choose NOT to do them. ;) Next week is the
annual water heater flush.

Ale mailing list
Ale@ale.org
http://mail.ale.org/mailman/listinfo/ale
See JOBS, ANNOUNCE and SCHOOLS lists at
http://mail.ale.org/mailman/listinfo
<br
