<div dir="ltr"><div>Ive spend many hours trying to get this floppys going with no success (too much free time you would say, but is my day off so why not). I don't have any 360KB floppy disk that I know are good to rule out floppy drive failure. I cheated and installed IBM PC HDD ST-225 on 2000's PC and install DOS 6.22 from brand new unopened diskettes ( I realize I have all kind of garbage or treasure :) . Then put the controller and HDD on Packard bell and works although 6.22 is a hog for that little of a memory.<br><br></div>Should try cleaning these floppy drives and align their heads or whatever needs to be done. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt">With this PC XT I've got few more machines. I have now Packard Bell with PB88 mainboard (XT clone) which required only dusting and works like a charm. This one is interesting because the mainboard is actually
only floppy controller, little RAM, 8 bit slots and RTC. The CPU board plugs like video card :) I had to get the video card from PC XT which has composite video input so I can test that the machine is working on TV. The original video card from this PB carry
ATI Canada sticker on the board. This could be earliest ATI video for PC market.</p>

Well.. I do the recapping myself, for myself... so the cost if just parts. Capacitors are cheap and I usually order 10 of each at a time so the cost is probably under $5 for each C64. I don’t generally do RCaaS (ReCapping as a Service) but I'm always happy
to help people keep their childhood systems and memories alive.<br>
