That is why I use LVM. Make a LVvar, LVopt, etc as needed. <br>

The need is dependant on the app. Like /opt/VENDORAPPNAME/data/log<br>

the size and split is dependent on the use, but I think I am

That's not really a concern here. It's more "well what if
process X goes crazy and fills the system up with a log file,
won't it take out the rest of the OS if it's all on one
partition?"<br>
