Rhel and fedora just have symlinks from vi to vim. They dumped old vi years ago. Rhel 3 had vi with optional vim.</p>

vim fred- :help shows for Vim version 7.4<br>
vi fred- :help shows Vim version 7.1 <br>

I don't show a "vi" package..<br>
