I'm actually a couple of revs behind the latest 'n' greatest. I started running the CM nightlies and found them perfectly acceptable for daily use. Rooting and installing ClockworkMod was a snap. I think I actually spent more time configuring CM 11 than I did installing it. It's the third HTC phone I've had, and I have been happy with all of them.
I've even been happy with HTC support when I've needed then to address a couple of (self-inflicted) hardware failures. A miracle in itself.
Of course, the first thing I did was root them and install custom roms on them.
I hear a lot of people like the HTC Sense interface, but I don't use any of the social media stuff, and my "cloud" is in my computer room, so I don't miss things athat others might.
They always use oddball chipsets for audio, video, and LAN, then they won't release driver updates for any version of Windows that comes out later...sometimes problems introduced with service packs won't get resolved with driver updates.
