Take all the stuff you used to leave uncategorized on your desktop and file them someplace else.<br><br></div>That said, there _is_ a way to display your ~/Desktop folder on the desktop: install gnome tweak tool
and enable the option through Gnome Tweak Tool -> Desktop -> Have
File Manager Handle the Desktop. <p><code>sudo yum install gnome-tweak-tool</code></p><p><br><code></code></p><p><code><font size="4">Those are for Fedora 19. Not sure if gnome-tweak-tool exists for CentOS7 yet.</font><br>

It's also there via the GUI if I open a file manager and look at /me/Desktop.<br>

So how do I get the icons (and files) to show up on the actual desktop?<br>
