I've been using AT&T 6mbit DSL at home/business.

We have a Sonicwall VPN router which is used to run VPN router-to-router tunnels to several client locations.

In order to make that work, the Sonicwall has to have a real address. In order to do that, we have to run the AT&T dsl device in bozo mode, and the Sonicwall actually does the PPOE and gets the single fixed IP address.

Which leaves us high and dry when the Sonicwall crashes.

Back when we used Dragon, I believe they set us up with 2 IP addresses, one for the DSL router, and the other for the Sonicwall.

If we switch to AT&T Uverse, which they call us about every other day, I wonder if they can accommodate this, or if there's a better provider. AT&T's prices have crept up to where switching wouldn't be too painful.
I've been considering this in the near future... At the moment, only
Comcast serves my office complex at >8mb/s, unfortunately. But AT&T has
indicated they are working to bring U-Verse to the party. U-Verse
(internet only) has been rock solid at my home. Comcast Business at the
office, not so much.
Can you share details of your routing/bonding configuration? Or point
to a howto you recommend? I'm familiar with layer 2 bonding between
switch and server, not with remote links.
