<p dir="ltr">You can almost always root your phone. It's mostly a question of how much pain you need to go through to do it. I found some instructions for Galaxy phones in a desultory Google search. That said, Verizon works hard to prevent you from gaining root on your own device , which is why I am switching to T-Mobile today, cramming scandal and all. </p>

arg.... I was thinking of getting an HTC one Max soon... but I am<br>

on Fedora, when I plug in my phone, I get 2 windows that say it can't<br>
open the folders, then finally a window opens with card... dcim... photos..<br>
