On top of that you have to pay for utilities. Most big buildings will take their estimated electricity and water and have you pay a part of that based on your square footage. Then you're responsible for your own internet (though there's usually only one provider), telephony, cable/satellite. I saw an announcement about a utility rate increase a while back, I want to say its something like $1.40/ft for utilities and about $200/mo for very basic internet. We use VoIP phones, so no telephony charges there.

So if it's 26.90/ft/year including utilities, you can figure out how much it is per month for the workspace size you're expecting. Yes, I get all that. I have a double office in my home. What I don't have is the cost justification, and for that I need to get real cost of commercial real estate with all the associated services.
Keep the compute power in a colo somewhere, and let the developers work from home. pay the devs more and save the office expenses. :-) An extra $K per month per person would be pretty good incentive.
I don't know the answer to your question, but don't forget to consider the "instant" office companies like Regus where you pay a flat rate and they provide all the real estate, building, infrastructure, staff, receptionist, janitor, etc.

I have no idea how economical they are.

If rolling your own, I would imagine prices would vary dramatically depending on whether you're in the city of Atlanta $$$, Buckhead $$$, Alpharetta $$, Norcross $$, Cumming $, etc.

It would probably also depend on how much data infrastructure you need and how much equipment (and power) each developer needs.

Sincerely,
