Ting does offer both new and a limited number of used phones. Because they use sprint, all will be CDMA. However, I think they are offering them through a partner which might have unlocked GSM. The one we got my wife was clean and obviously wiped back to factory defaults.
We've thus far been satisfied with Ting for my wife's limited internet usage. Startup was a little rocky, but they always answered the phone.
Hi Chuck,
This may be an answer that is not an answer. However, gazelle.com is
always buying old phones from people. They must sell them somehow. I
don't know how. But it might be worth a look.
If you wanted to change carriers, you could try ting.com, which resells
the sprint network. They have cool pay as you use it pricing. They
also sell unlocked phones. I don't know about pricing, and I think the
phones are new. But, they have several different models and pricing
arrangements. Might be worth a look.
Radio shack is a reseller for several carriers aside from the big 3.
They also have some pay as you go plans. Might be worth checking with
them too.
Sincerely,
Ron
