Hi all,

I decided to write a bit about malware attacks on humans by nature and on technology by humans (in another thread).

I've been very ill with one of those nasty flu things going around. This is off topic but may be useful to anyone with a family member dealing with this. I have hardly left the bed nor the bathroom and have hardly touched food or a computer in days. Do everything you can to keep your immune system strong and avoid this thing. Trust me, you DON'T want it. The following may be common knowledge, but it bears repeating. If you get this, and it get's to a certain point, it will dehydrate you FAST. You will not wish to eat or drink. There came a point when I said to myself, I'm getting weaker and I could end up in the hospital. You HAVE to keep drinking. Preferably something like a Gatorade (without dyes and artificial sweeteners), or fruit juice. Something with calories and nutrients. I found carbonated beverages to be harmful since they pressurise your stomach, which this disease does anyway. Average humans need about 1/2 their body weight in ounces in liquid every !
day. That means about 100 ounces / day for a 200 lb person.

So, my advice is, for what it's worth, don't get it. Easier said than done. If you do get it, taking something like coldeze or zicam quickly might slow it down a bit, but I haven't tested it. It hit me hard and fast, and I woke up at 4 AM Tuesday shivering under the covers with no warning the night before. If you get to the living in the bathroom stage, you must keep hydrating at all costs.

Sincerely,

Ron
call on the phone. I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy
mailing lists and such. I don't always see new email messages very quickly.)
