I have a Quantum DLT1 tape drive that appears to be broken - I/O errors some times but not others. Was able to tar to it for a while - but it got an I/O error at finish and same when trying to read back. I've swapped out cables (w/ termination on the end, BTW) and SCSI controllers and I can't get consistent behavior. Sometimes even "mt -f /dev/st0 status" will I/O error right after boot.
Does anyone have a known working similar loose DLT drive that I can borrow for a little while? Here's a photo of the unit I'm dealing with: http://picpaste.com/tapedrive-GJOVjvpm.jpg
