        order enough computer and other stuff that I got the company to
        pay for Amazon Prime, which gives me free 2-day shipping. I
        found I'd usually procrastinate at least 2 days going to a
        brick-and-mortar store unless it's an emergency anyway--even one
        on the way to or from work :-) The nice thing is I still get the
        free shipping on my personal Amazon orders too because it's tied
        to the account, not the business.

        <div>We do sometimes buy from local stores like GIM Computers
          even when it's not strictly necessary, though. It'd be a shame
          for the handy, reasonably well stocked and reasonably priced
          store to go out of business because sometimes you really need
          to go and get that drive or memory right now!&nbsp;<br>

    The real problem for brick &amp; mortar is similar to what Wal-mart
    did to many small town retailers. They must adapt or die, do they
    provide me with a good reason to visit them and to buy from them? If
    not then they will fade away. Also, fewer brick &amp; mortars will
    be needed to cover the same geographical area so it is very critical
    to adapt. <br>

            Retail is changing. Online retailers are very similar to
            catalog sales of yesterday. You can see a picture, read a
            description, etc. but can not handle/try on. This works
            extremely well for a many types of products but not all or
            if you need specific information. One major difference is
            that store inventory is immediate pickup while online
            requires at least 1 day delivery which can get pricey. The
            other major difference is that online operations can have
            more types of items in inventory than a store could ever
            have.<br>
