<html><head></head><body bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><div>Yep, looks like you're having problems with hda, the primary IDE hard drive. It's odd that you'd be able to boot though. I'd expect that it would likely be your boot disk. At boot, there's an error about needing to run fsck, what does it say above that? The fsck error is a canned message whenever there are filesystem problems at boot time. The real error message should occur before it.</div><div><br></div><div>-Scott<br><br>On Jun 12, 2012, at 8:22 PM, <a href="mailto:mdkliman@aol.com">mdkliman@aol.com</a> wrote:<br><br></div><div></div><blockquote type="cite"><div><font color="black" size="3" face="Comic Sans MS, sans-serif">

<div>It's probably asking you for the root password, then after the root password is entered, displays a prompt something like:</div>
<div>(RepairFilesystem 1)#</div>

<div>You really need the full error message. It could be that there is legitimate disk corruption. But more likely there's a device listed in your /etc/fstab that's misspelled or no longer attached to the machine. If its the latter, not that big of a deal. If its the former, that usually doesn't bode well.</div>
