I rooted my Kindle Fire, and while it's been quite a frustrating
process installing Google Market & apps on the thing because
they are labeled "incompatible", I'm still happy with the tablet. I
never watch Amazon Prime content, so I'd be perfectly fine with
installing a new ROM, but I wanted to give the devs time to work out
all the bugs.

If you're considering rooting a Fire -- it would be far simpler to
just install a new ROM than to jump through all the hoops I did to
make it feel like a regular Android system.
Now as far as our opinion of it. The boss is thrilled with it and

There
I had mentioned on another thread about a project that is based on
OpenHardware design and OSS. The OS is a fork from MeeGo or based
on
MeeGo, and I was talking to Mike W. about it at the post meeting,
meeting at Melton's. So Mike W. here is the link
but
they had to change the name to Vivaldi.
