this really sounds like a windows-only printer share device to me.<br><br>Try installing the missing client tools (samba-client, ipp, etc) on your linux machine and then treat the printer as a windows shared printer (i.e. it's shared out by a windows machine that it's USB connected to).<br>
<br>You can also try using the IPP ports with the IP address instead of the jet-direct port.<br><br>Lastly, I've had decent success setting up a problem printer (not like this one) using the browser cups client when the distro printer config tools fail me.<br>

I just bought a Belkin N600 wireless router. It allows you to connect<br>

And a notice about needing mdns, ipp, ipp-client and samba-client<br>
enabled on the firewall. Extensive googling hasn't found anybody who<br>
got past this issue. I don't even know if it's *the* issue preventing<br>
my printer from being seen on the network. But all available tools<br>
fail to show anything connected to the router. I don't know where to<br>
turn. Please let me know if fellow ALErs have figures this out before.<br>
